PETRONOVOO-PETROSCIENCE-STUDENT PAPER COMPETITION
UPN "VETERAN" YOGYAKARTA

thnx 4 having inspired me, my friends...

This was my first experience of joining inter-university competition. There are three parts of comp.held by Petroleum Engineering Major, MineralTechnology Faculty, UPN Jogja (namely Petronovoo): Student Paper Comp,Plan of Development Comp, and Green student Comp. I followed the first aforesaid. I firstly sent the abstract of my paper by the title: The Application of Underground Coal Gasification (UCG) Technology as an Alternative Method of javascript:void(0)Coal Exploitation in Fulfilling the Need of
Energy in Indonesia. And Fortunately, the committee accepted my proposal and allowed me to present it at a final Student Paper Contest in UPN "Veteran" campus, Jogja.

Well, I competed with 5 other finalists from other university: UI, University of Trisakti, UNPAD, ITB, UPN. At firstly called presenter, from Trisakti, the three
ajudicators from BP-MIGAS, Petroleum Lecturer from ITB and UPN attacked with heavy questions. That made me nervous. But still remained in my mind, that what might be happening, is 4 my own learning. That's so,when I deliver my presentation, I could still stand on my legs for 30 minutes, being attacked by the ajudicators, interrogated. Most of participants said that my presentation was the most attractive ones, it was very communicative since many flowcharts and animations represented my mind instead of words. Other positive comments are from ajudicators.
They were satisfied due to the completeness and validity of the souces of data I have.

Alhamdulillah, I finally reached my first dream written on my dream books. It is to obtain the best paper award ( even if it was not the first best paper). The jury read the champions of Student Paper Contest. First and second champions are from Petroleum Engineering-ITB, and Petroleum Engineering-UPN. The third is my paper,
geological engineering-UNDIP.

It is not about winning or losing the competition. It was mostly about how u could actively participate in an inter-university and many other competitions.
That would make u realize, how important the link of friendship u make, how to do a good n sportive competition, how to share ur knowledge and experience to others, etc.

U're all my beloved friends who had motivated me so strong that I be like now. Thousands words of thanks couldn't represent my honors to you.

best regards,
M Ofyan Khaeri
